| Grades Kindergarten - 2nd Young Chefs Academy Young Chefs Academy is a cooking school created just for children ages three to eighteen. Through hands-on participation in a variety of cooking-themed activities, children can build life-enriching skills and experience the thrill of discovering, creating and tasting new foods. Young Chefs Academy is excited to offer fun and hands-on cooking classes at Gayton Elementary. Please make checks payable to Young Chefs Academy. The cost is $60 per child. Fun and Games to the Max with Mrs. Wright Are you ready to have fun? Have you ever used speed stacks, played with a socci goal, used gatorskin balls? These are just some of the pieces of equipment we will be using. We will do fitness stations and play games with parachutes, balls, jump ropes, hula hoops, scooters, and much more. We will cooperate, learn, move and play. Students will work their muscles and exercise their heart while having fun to the MAX! The cost is $40 per child. Jewelry making with the YMCA As part of Junior Jewelers, children grades K-2 will create jewelry and accessories using a variety of media, including clay beading, keepsake lockets, and modern paper accessories. They will have the opportunity to emulate popular accessory trends and leave each class with the skills and techniques to create their own pieces at home." The cost is $35 per child. |
| Grades 2nd - 5th SPARC Theater An introduction to all three disciplines: Acting, Singing and Dance. Teachers will focus on the basics of stage directions, introduction of self, short scenes and text exchanges and or group recitation. Music and creative movement will be used to enhance physical awareness, self-control and establish personal space boundaries. Simple sections of well known Broadway, Disney or popular songs may be used to teach short choreographed combinations and vocal technique. The cost is $50 per child. Overtime Athletics Join OTA for a Double Play of sports! Each week we will alternate between the fast paced game of lacrosse and everyone's favorite game - dodge ball! Coaches will teach the basics of lacrosse including cradling, scooping, passing, catching and shooting. Dodge ball will focus on a variety of dodge ball games that challenge your accuracy and speed. The cost is $50 per child. Young Rembrandts Join the Young Rembrandts for an awesome drawing adventure. During this program you will improve your drawing skills by learning to draw fire trucks, creative monsters, the human hand, football/cheering scenes, and a beautiful fall still life. Classes are open to new AND returning artists. You will learn fundamentals like line, shape, form, perspective, color theory, value & texture. The cost is $50 per child. |
